F4 Purpose & Code of Conduct

The purpose of F4 is to promote the sport of wrestling, grappling, and self-defense, as well as functional fitness to area youth and adults alike through instructional training of proper techniques and movements in a healthy, clean, and loving environment.

F4 has a highly qualified staff to assist in the instructional training of participants. Our staff conducts all training in an environment designed to promote a fun, yet informative, training experience. Hard work, dedication and sportsmanship are promoted, and through positive reinforcement, our staff provides the best possible training for our athletes.

F4 is not a club, nor is it a team. F4 is a community centric facility that should be seen as a tool to assist individuals in their own health & wellness, fitness, and athletic endeavors. Our staff comes from multiple schools and clubs. This is what makes F4 so brilliant—our athletes witness adults coming together as one for the betterment of others. Every coach, athlete, and parent/bystander is not only a representative of this facility, but of most importance, our community. Our actions are as important as our words, so please lead by example to show our athletes and our community the true definition of “good sportsmanship” and what it means to “Be a Better Human.”

Should you have any questions concerning F4 please see one of the staff members.

ATHLETE’s CODE OF CONDUCT:
1. No athlete is to physically or verbally abuse any coach, parent, bystander, or fellow athlete.

2. Athletes must listen to and follow the directions of all coaches and parents. Athletes will
be expected to work hard at practice or will be asked to sit. Athletes are not to
be disruptive during practice.
3. When a coach is speaking, we ask all athletes remain silent and listen.

4. At all times, athletes must conduct themselves in a mature and respectful manner.

  • a. No unsportsmanlike yelling or cheering if an athlete is hurt.

  • b. Win or lose, athletes MUST shake hands and congratulate their opponent.

  • c. No vulgar or obscene gestures of any kind should ever be made by an athlete.

  • d. No punching, slapping, kicking, pulling hair, eye gouging, inappropriate touching, etc. will be tolerated.

5. No athlete is to use abusive and/or profane language.

6. All athletes are to treat the F4 property and equipment with respect and as intended to be used.

PARENTS/BYSTANDERS CODE OF CONDUCT:
1. No parent or bystander is to physically or verbally abuse another parent, fan, coach, wrestler etc.

2. If a parent has a problem, concern, or issue of any sort, the only proper venue for discussion is with an F4 staff member in private at an appropriate time.

3. All parents are to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner:

  • a. No unsportsmanlike yelling, such as: booing, teasing, or cheering if a wrestler is hurt or losing.

  • b. No instructions to take specific advantage of any injury incurred by an opponent.

  • c. No unsportsmanlike gestures of any kind will be allowed.

4. Except in an emergency, no parent is to interfere with practices at any time unless pre-practice approval from a staff member. Parents may observe, but are to wait until before or after practices to interact with their child or talk with the coaches unless a coach requests a conversation. Coaches will be glad to talk to parents in private about any issue or problem before or after practices. Also, we ask all athletes to remain silent when a coach is teaching and we require the same of all practice spectators. If you would like to carry on a conversation with another spectator during practice, please move outside the facility when a coach is teaching.

5. Please see that your child is picked up at the designated time after practice. The coaches will try to finish practice as close to the designated time as possible.
6. Please remember that this program is for our youth, but in no way is it to be used as an excuse for unfinished homework or other responsibilities. Explain this to your child so he/she can plan his/her time wisely.
